Stud Service
We are pleased to be offering our high quality stallions for outside mares. We encourage you to read through the following terms, requirements and fee schedules and are happy to answer any questions via email or on the phone.
Requirements
We are offering services for mares that are
- purebred, we do not cross breed our Fjord stallions
- are 3 years old and older
- are unrelated to the selected stallion, so that no horse occurs more than one time in the first three generations of the resulting foal's pedigree
- have no known health conditions
Terms
We do not give a live foal guarantee (LFG) for any breedings. We do offer a return of service in case the mare is not conceiving in the same or following breeding season. Our breeding contracts define our responsibility as servicing the mares (via live cover or supplying semen). As soon as the mare confirms in foal, we have fulfilled our contractual responsibility and the responsibility for the mare and her pregnancy transfers back to the owner.
Live cover
All mares coming to our farm for live cover need to be up to date on vaccinations*, de-worming and have had their last trim within the 4 weeks of arrival. We are happy to have our farrier trim your mare(s) and will consult with you prior to farrier service, but this can only happen on our trim schedule. Mares should be in good general health and free from any diseases. Food restrictions need to be discussed before hand. Mares are not allowed to come with shoes for the safekeeping of our stallions.
For numerous reasons, we do not accept outside mares with foals by their side.
*minimum requirement is Tetanus, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis
Shipped Semen
Semen needs to be ordered at a minimum of 2 days in advance. We are not able to supply fresh-chilled shipped semen given shorter notice. Due to shipper and veterinary limitations, we can only collect and ship semen Monday - Friday.

Fee Schedule
The stud fee depends on the selected stallion and is based on pedigree, performance, accomplishments and color and in respect to the investment we have made to make this stallion available.
The stud fee includes for all stallions and breeding methods a 50% booking fee, which reserves you a spot. This booking fee is not refundable! The rest of the stud fee (50%) is due when the mare confirms in foal and will get you a certificate of stallion service to register the resulting foal. The stud fee is the stud fee and applies to all breedings independent from the way of breeding.
Shipping of fresh-chilled semen require a payment for collection and shipping prior to the collection and shipping. These cost can either get billed directly from our vet clinic or through a payment of $550 to us in advance.
We are applying a fee for mare care to all mares brought to our farm for live cover, which starts at $15 per night. This includes handling, feed (twice a day) and water. Special supplements, grain, minerals need to be provided by the mare owner.
