Greta, also bred by Dan, is a super sweet and very feminine mare with excellent Fjord type. She is one of the prettiest Fjord mares we have seen and, in general, there is nothing we would change on this mare. Greta is very elegant, refined, sensitive and is our main show horse.
Greta had a nice colt by Skogheims Viljar in 2015 and, after a few years of training, has produced a fantastic 2018 Siljar foal in DD Princessa!
Princessa has gifted us herself with a beautiful grey dun filly by Tsjalle (DD Grå Perle), who will stay in our program.
Greta foaled an adorable colt by Maximus in January 2021, DD Marius and another colt by Gio in April 2022 with DD Galant.
We have really liked the cross with Gio (maybe be best) and therefore Greta produced in September 2023 a stunning brown dun colt with DD Gnist.
We had decided to leave Greta open in 2024 to give her more time to recover from her previous pregnancy, but with Gio leaving us in late August 2024, we gave it one more try and are keeping our fingers extra crossed for one final filly. Greta is due for a mid July 2025 foal to Gio and will be retiring from the broodmare band afterwards.
Dan bred Greta and Denise started her under saddle as a 4 year old. Now, Greta has matured into a drop dead gorgeous mare in every way! Everyone who rides her, wants to take her home, but she is the heart of our program and irreplaceable!
She did phenomenal at her first show at the PNFPG Fjordshow in Sandpoint 2017, placing second with Dan in the Novice Horse English class, third place with Denise in Hunter Hack and also second place in a large halter class out of 13 mares! One month later, she placed second in training level test 2 at the INDA dressage show at Pleasant Valley in Spokane. After weaning her 2018 foal, we entered Greta in two divisions at her very first Hunter Jumper Show and she came away with two Division Championships! We look forward to continuing with Greta's showing and competition career, of course with breaks for breeding and foaling!
