We are very excited to welcome Emelianna to our herd! We were hoping to add her to our program previously and therefore are thrilled to now have the opportunity to add her to our breeding program. Emelianna is a beautiful and well put together grey dun mare, who also happens to be white and also red recessive.
We are planning on breeding Emelianna in 2024 to Tsjalle. We are hoping that he will improve the quality and correctness of her legs and feet as well as strengthen her topline. We are hoping she will pass in her suppleness and powerful hip. This foal will guaranteed be grey, but can also be red, yellow or lysgrå (white and grey).
Conformationally we could have also seen her crossing well with Siljar, however, due to their color genetics, we are refraining from doing this cross.
Emelianna is confirmed in foal to Tsjalle for April 2025!
Emelianna is out of the red dun mare Kjor Elianna, who Dan owned for 6 years and presented at two NFHR evaluations earning a Blue Ribbon in conformation and movement in 2008.
Elianna was one of the sweetest mares and we truly feel that Emelianna steps into her mom’s hoofprints.
On Emelianna’s sire side, she goes back to the Norwegian import stallion Smedsmo Graen and FC Gwendelin, who happens to be a full sister to FC Madellin. Madellin has earned the NFHR Hall of Fame award for quality of offspring and is the mother of our very own Ironwood Helena.
Emelianna did not receive a lot of training and she will be spending the next half year trying to fill in the gaps. However, due to her genetics she will primarily be part of our broodmare band.
