Megan came to Dungård in November 2016 from Pat and Warren Hofert (Dun In Farm) in Capac, Michigan. Since her first steps off the trailer, we fell in love with her in very way! She has a true Fjord temperament - confident, easy and curious!
Megan had her first foal in 2019, a gorgeous grey dun colt by Tsjalle named DD Tajo. Tajo is just the perfect package of conformation, movement, disposition and quality of pedigree with the bonus of color!
Because we feel the cross between Megan and Tsjalle worked perfectly, we decided to breed Megan back to him for a 2020 foal. Megan produced a spectacular filly, which will continue this line as a performance horse and broodmare in Florida!
Megan produced a super adorable filly, DD Matilda, with Siljar in July 2022.
Megan foals a breathtaking white dun colt sired by Siljar in 2024 with DD Skål. Skål is now owned by Dr. Miranda Cleveland and will be standing at DDungard at stud in 2027! We have left Megan open in 2024 and are planning on breeding her in 2025 to Hatton's Oskar!
Megan is our rock star... she won the youngstock halter class at the PNFPG Fjordshow 2017 in Sandpoint, she is started under saddle walk/trot, ground drives and has been ponied out on trails a bunch. A 4 year old mare that had a foal, is broke to ride and packs kids around - what more do you want?
Now, Megan has produced three lovely foals for us and has mainly developed into Dan's main riding horse. She is proving herself over and over again as an excellent mare that he can just load in the trailer and go riding, if it's at the Oregon Horse center Mountain trail course, at the beach or explore an unknown trail... Megan does it all!
Due to Megan's size, she is supremely suited for Dan and with her suppleness and dressage foundation, she is a very comfortable mount.
