Our only 2025 Tsjalle foal turned out to be a leggy largely framed filly! Eleanor, as a typical Tsjalle foal, has a curious friendly personality, loves to move and is very confident.
Eleanor will be growing up in our youngster herd and eventually become part of our broodmare program!
Eleanor is more than we had hoped for! While we absolutely love Tsjalle foals and had no doubt there, Emelianna has really exceeded our expectations. While we have not been excited about her previous foals (not our breeding), with Eleanor she really put her best traits forward in an adorable package.
Emelianna is out of the red dun mare Kjor Elianna, who Dan owned for 6 years and presented at two NFHR evaluations earning a Blue Ribbon in conformation and movement in 2008.Elianna was one of the sweetest mares and we truly feel that her disposition shines through in Eleanor.
On Emelianna’s sire side, she goes back to the Norwegian import stallion Smedsmo Graen and FC Gwendelin, who happens to be a full sister to FC Madellin. Madellin has earned the NFHR Hall of Fame award for quality of offspring and is the mother of our very own Ironwood Helena. With Runar Fra Opdal, Eleanor's pedigree boosts another imported stallion.
Eleanor is a true Tsjalle daughter in disposition and build. She is framed big and has long legs (almost as long as her dam's after birth) with tons of substance. She was born extra sweet and loves people. The innate confidence, trustfulness and curiosity is something we witness constantly from Tsjalle foals.
We are tickled that Eleanor inherited her beautiful grey coat color from her parents, but also received one dose of the cream gene from Emelianna, making her a lysgrå/smokey grey.
