Malibu was Helena's first foal and out of Maximus' first foal crop. He is a stunning white dun stud prospect, who is interesting for our program because of his

While Malibu is a homebred stud colt, he surly brings some interesting bloodlines back into the program.
His sire, Prince Maximus Sur Mer, was with us in 2018/2019 for his initial breeding season. He is by the Norwegian import stallion Bakkens Marius (Fjolestaen x Bo Marja by Heidrapp) who is a full brother to the 1pr. stallion Mykletind (10-9-9-9-9-9). Maximus' dam is the Mogly daughter Bluebird Lane Oriole out of the Dutch import mare Rjelgramm by Myrstein.
Malibu's dam, Ironwood Helena, was bred by Ironwood Farm in Virginia. She is sired by OH Wynn, who is a red dun stallion by the Norwegian import stallion Flotren and out of the mare Braggen, who happens to also be Siljar's great grandmother. Helena's dam FC Madellin is by the Norwegian import stallion Modellen and the Norwegian import mare Lin by Haugull. All together, both Maximus and Helena have incredibly high quality pedigrees!
Malibu was a very impressive colt when he was born. Besides his shining white color, his head was already absolutely stunning as a young foal! Now, as a 2 year old, Malibu resembles his sire much more in body style and movement, while still displaying his stunning head from his dam. He has an incredible ability to round through the back, neck and poll. He is a very quick learner, nicely sensitive and crazy talented. His movement is supple and fluent and he loves to canter and do free jumping.... just for fun because he can!
Malibu was purchased by Kat Barrett as a weanling and will be spending late 2022 until spring 2023 back with us at DDungård! We are planning on breeding him to a couple mares in late spring 2023. Since we have his half-sisters DD Hera, 2021 by Tsjalle, and DD Helana, 2022 by Gio, we will not be standing Malibu for outside mares as his genetics are already significantly represented. We may consider custom breeding with him to one of our mares, but only for the right home and situation.
Malibu will eventually be gelded and make an amazingly talented gelding for someone. He will be a total gem as a pony club mount.
For 2024 we have LVG Faksi (Prydarson x Skjenna Gard Firogyn x Felix) confirmed in foal for an early April 2024 foal to Malibu!
