DD Helana
The final golden filly of the 2022 foaling season, a stunning yellow dun filly sired by Gio. Halana -Lana for short- is as sweet as she is special. Besides her rare color, Lana is well put together and just has a gorgeous head. We are excited for her future at DDungård!

Helana will be retained for our program. In addition to her half sister, DD Hera, (*2021 by Tsjalle), Helana will continue her dam's line in our breeding program. These lines go back to Flotren and Modellen, who have proven to work exceptionally well with our stallions.
We are planning on breeding Hera to Helana's sire Gio; and Helana to Hera's sire Tsjalle in the future. It will be fascinating to see how that works.
Yellow Duns are the most rare Fjord color with 0.09% (2021) of all registered Fjord Horses in the US being yellow. The yellow dun is a full red dun with the cream gene, basically a red dun and a white dun at the same time. Helana is one of those very rare yellow duns and we are thrilled to now have all 5 Fjord colors on the property. Besides her color, Helana is super personable and sweet. Compared to her siblings, she is bigger and we are hopeful that she will mature a little taller than her dam Helena. So far it looks like Helana will have Helena's super pretty face.
